When the forum was created, David gave these aims for it.
1. TO PROVIDE A PLACE IN A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR MEMBERS OF LIVEWIRE WHO ARE DISABLED TO MEET OTHER MEMBERS WHO ARE ALSO DISABLED.

2. TO PROVIDE AN ONLINE SOURCE FOR ALL MEMBERS OF THE LIVEWIRE COMMUNITY REGARDING INFORMATION AND RESOURCES FOR THOSE WITH DISABILITIES

3. TO HELP OTHERS WHO MAY KNOW OF SOMEONE WHO HAS A DISABILITY

Looking through the forum, and it's plain to see that these objectives aren't being met, at all. For the most, it's just voyeuristic bullshit. And I don't think that's fair. The original intentions of the forum are no doubt great, but they aren't being met.

A large part of this is due to an absent moderator. Whilst I'm sure there is a valid reason for this, that doesn't mean that the forum should be neglected. We have a full moderation team, and at the moment mpm is often quite low.

So would it be too much just to shift someone across so they have a small amount of focus on this forum, and enable it to fulfil it's potential?

We do try to cover the forums where we think moderators are absent, we do not need to be assigned to forums to moderate [unless the new tag is still attached]

You could always report what you feel needs removed/moved etc which will help a bunch. Not all moderators have time to go into other forums and moderate them as effectively as their own forum.

I agree there needs to be a bit more focus on that forum, as well as Friends & Family seemingly.

I know, it's not a whine at moderators, hence it being posted in here. But aren't you told to focus more on the forums that you are assigned to. There is only so much reporting you can do without feeling like a complete fool.

Furthermore, the actual guidelines of it need making more clear, because whilst the aims are clear, that doesn't necessarily come across to many members.

Yes! LWD needs more moderation as well as more support leader input. I try to help out in the forum as much as I can, but it often feels as is I am one of the only members on the site who actually values LWD and wants to see it used properly.

Yes, LWD does not see many mods (at least as far as they can be seen in public view) but it also needs more SLs to pop in and help out.
