When they compete just as cheerleaders, it is a sport. When they jump up and down at high school football games, no.

if you compete theN HELL YES. During the season, my varsity cheer squad practices 3 hours a day, 6 days a week (4 hours on saturday). Before each practice we run 2 miles and we condition after every prax. TO be successful and do well in competition, you have to be able to perform three minutes of intense stunting, dancing, yelling, and most importanttly tumbling. All put together its like doing intense sprints..
Im sry if this comes across as BOLD, but i have to defend a sport that is commonly underestimated
