What am I really worth? -- LiveWire Teen Forums

If anybody can give me some advice that'd be great. I've been part of my High School's Navel Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) for all 4 years. I've been promoted to Senior Chief (for those who don't know, it's one rank away from becoming an officer). And I have been putting my all into it. I did drill team all the time, I did loads of community service, and I'm a pretty nice guy. So how is it that when I'm not in an ROTC class, I'm pretty much ignored unless I make myself known to the rest of the seniors? On top of that, I'm a video editor, and I make the Unit's video's. I rolled out about 6 major video projects this year. All I get was a simple thanks, and that's that. I just feel like I'm just part of the cog. I know that the military is all about teamwork, but even in the REAL military somebody looks out for their bunkmates. I've got nobody. And now I sit here and wonder if I spent all my years devoted to the unit, should I have? If all I have is just the knowledge that I made an impact on the underclassman, being their for them, but when it comes to people my age, I'm just another piece of the wall. I don't know what to do, please somebody, give me some advice to go on?
