I tried posting this in the relationships forum, but got no response :(

Well, basically, I started going out with this girl back in 2005, and we were literally inseperable for most of the relationship. I honestly thought we would be together for the rest of our lives. But then in early 2007 we split up. To keep a long story short, it was the circumstances which drove us apart, not each other. We remained friends, although I don't see nearly as much of her as I used to.

But, you guessed it, I'm still in love with her. But I'm not sure if she loves me. Sometimes I see her looking up at me from her desk in school. She doesn't really flirt, I know that from before we got together. She strongly implied me she still loved me, but that was a while ago now. So, what should I do? And how should I go about doing it? I don't want things to be awkward around her.

If it was circumstance that made you split up before, has anything changed since then? If not then maybe you'll just have to accept that it can't work out.

It's also natural to still love someone after you split up, even if its mutual, break ups are never easy. If you still talk to her maybe talk about 'the times you used to have' and see how she reacts. If you dont want to come straight out and ask her anything. If she brushes it off then shes not interested, if not then maybe.

Meet up outside of school and stuff maybe, see what its like one on one again. Read the signs. But you might just have to accept that its over and move on, accept that you're just friends.
