Get a 6 cylinder hybrid. Never get a 4 cylinder... These days they don't get much more mileage than the 6's.
You have no idea what your talking about, plus i have no were near the money for a hybrid.
Oh? Go do some research. Most 4 cylinders get around 30-40mpg, while most of the mid-size 6's (around 3.0-3.5 liters) will get between 20 and 30mpg. The tradeoff get in power, personally, makes this decision a no brainer. If you can settle for 18-20mpg, get a Chevy Trailblazer SS; 6.0L 600hp Chevy LS2 V8. The torque on that thing is pretty insane. Oh and you never mentioned a budget. You can probably find a decent 6-cylinder Hybrid for around $25k-$30k?
If you assume someone on a teen website is browsing in the 25-30 thousand dollar range, someone needs to take a pipe to your head. Divide by anywhere from 3-15.

This is also a college forum with a tech/automotive section, you cunt. Get off my balls. Auto loans aren't that hard to get.
Look, long story short I post in the Auto forum a lot more than you for a lot longer, and I can tell you that the only times I've seen people post with that kind of budget, they're n00bs with 1-4 days active who are most likely making it up. Besides, most college kinds have even less money because of, you know, college.

Sorry but you are not your post count, and just because you post here more often doesn't mean someone won't have some rich parents/grandparents/extended family who will want to pitch in. You never know the poster's situation, even the "n00bs who were most likely making it up" I guess for a "teen" price range, a Scion tC/xB/xA, Toyota Corolla, Chevy Cobalt, Dodge Avenger maybe? Mazda 3/6/Protege, Nissan Sentra, most VW models, maybe an Audi A4. Don't forget, used shouldn't be out of the question either. For SUVs there Toyota Highlander, Honda Pilot, Chevy Trailblazer, Dodge Durango. If you look hard enough you can find pretty much anything in your price range. Things must be different in Australia, it's not a big difference here. Post edited at 10:31 pm on June 20, 2008 by CaliKevin

You're making such an ass of yourself that this reply isn't even needed. Just a hearty. LOL

The average teen doesn't get a brand new car from their parents and if they do then I would consider themselves 'privledged' Im sorry that im not 'privledged' jerk!

I have a 4cyl, I wouldn't mind having more power. But I have a 4cyl because I am mainly commuting, and we all know commuting sucks so I got the more fuel efficient gas car without having to drive around one of those hybrids... I still can't stand the look of those. But I guess I like to get more for my money hence the 4cyl getting better mileage... 300 miles on one tank, pretty damn good! But like the others said... it wouldn't make much sense to mod a 4cyl. I've thought about it... But I think I am just going to dress my car up more and then when I get a "real" car after college I will be able to sell this one. I hope. Or I may keep it. BUT... seriously are you going to mod it? Or are you just saying you might? Power or better gas mileage? I've had no problems with my 4cyl. If I were you I would go test drive the cars a few times to see which feels better. It's all about feeling good in the car.

FYI a loan for a teen/early 20's kid with even a decent full time job is hard to get when the amount is above about 15K. Used cars are even harder to get loans for. Please don't say loans are easy to get for people with little to no credit on a car over 15K, because its simply a lie. You'll need a co-signer 85% of the time
I still don't get the problem there... Do most teens these days not have parents or grandparents who will co-sign on a car loan for them? You're right about the ysed car loans thing though, when I tried to get a loan for my car, the credit union refused because it was over 5 years old at the time we got it. And yes, I knew I should have specified that your credit rating matters when it comes to the loans, and most "teenagers" (13-17) don't have any credit to speak of. How big is your tank? I get about 350-400 miles out of my 14 gallon tank. Post edited at 6:27 pm on June 21, 2008 by CaliKevin
