I am doing a persuasive essay on ex-gay ministries, and I was wondering what others believe regarding the ability of a homosexual to become (through therapy and counseling) heterosexual.

I have no idea, one of my friends just told me she was straight when she'd been bi since we met. I really don't think that gays and bis can become heterosexual through therapy.

I think sexuality is actually a lot more fluid than the terms "homosexual" and "heterosexual" give credit to (even bisexual perhaps).

However I think it might be possible some people who have a sexual aversion to the opposite sex could overcome that aversion.

Oh I read this wrong.
Through counseling and stuff when they don't want to go through it: no.
If they want to and go to counseling and such and truly want to become hetero, yes.
I think it's a frame of mind, not something set into stone.

Impossible. The homosexual just learns discipline about controlling his urges. I've never seen one personally, but i think cases like that the ex-gay just becomes a closeted bisexual.
