Alright so I just bought a Moto Q off of ebay, but the phone didn't come with the owners manual and I can't figure out how to change my ringtone to something way less shitty than the default ones.

I have the cable and transfered a few songs over to my phone already.  So if anyone has this phone and can help me to solve this dilemma that would be great.

Now, I personally dont have the phone, but I have worked with many, so I'll tell you what you need to do, hopefully its the same for the Moto Q you have.
1) Check that the format of the songs you transfered were .MP3, as some phones can only play these. But they can also play .M4A, .3GP music also. Go to the song you want, and hit options. Then there should be something saying something like: Set as, or Apply to etc. Click this, and you should be given a choice to set it as your ringtone.
If that doesnt work, then go to the phone settings. Go to the audio settings (there should be a little music or speaker icon). From that area, you will definitley find a way to change your ringtone.
If none of these work, PM me, and I'll try direct you to a site that can help you.

Thanks for replying.  Unfortunately i've already pursued those two ideas with no success.  For some reason you can't use uploaded songs as a ringtone (i'm assuming).  I tried a site called like ringtonezoo or something but the site didn't work.

I'm pretty sure the only way to get them into the ringtones folder is to have them directly transfered from a website to there.  Because even when transferring data onto my phone music automatically goes into the "music" folder, not "ringtones"
