We recently discovered that a small number - less than 1% - of the Video iPods available for purchase after September 12, 2006, left our contract manufacturer carrying the Windows RavMonE.exe virus. This known virus affects only Windows computers, and up to date anti-virus software which is included with most Windows computers should detect and remove it. So far we have seen less than 25 reports concerning this problem. The iPod nano, iPod shuffle and Mac OS X are not affected, and all Video iPods now shipping are virus free. As you might imagine, we are upset at Windows for not being more hardy against such viruses, and even more upset with ourselves for not catching it.

I like how they blame Windows for not being hardy against viruses. The OS has nothing to do with it, its market share. More people=more targets.

But yeah, I remember hearing about that. It makes me laugh. All the stupid Apple/iPod fanboys are going to start making radical claims that the iPod is better, and this doesnt change anything, but because very few of them are willing to back that up with any sort of fact, we all know that the Zune is better.

yep i really want a Zune but they arn't like properly out in the UK yet

but ooo i like the Zune 2 and the Zune 3 or touch or w.e its called they look nicee

The proper name is based on their storage:
Zune80 = 80gb Zune
Zune4   = 4gb Zune
Zune8   = 8gb Zune
Zune16 = 16gb Zune
Zune30 = 30gb Zune

The Zune30 is the old style Zune, the one that is fat and ugly. lol

I have a Zune30, and its a tad bulky, but its still nice. I like it alot better than my iPod.

But yeah, just hold off, they just got the Zune in Canada, and they should have it over in the UK before early next year.

Its definitely worth the wait.

Im curious why you couldnt just buy one on eBay though. You could charge it via USB, so that wouldnt be an issue, and you could use a US based proxy to grab the software off of the Zune site, or have a nice US friend email it to you.

I would assume so, provided you are running XP or Vista.

You could always ask around on a Zune site to be sure. Im sure someone has tried it.

If it will work, it will definitely be worth it, and you would be one of the first few people to have one over there!
