i'd like to point out that there's bonnes, grand prix's, monte carlos, that are daily driven, in the 10 to 12 second range, that are road legal, and are safer than that ever would be.

No way. I'd never have guessed. The thing is, Impala's and the like are cars people like. Tempo's aren't. You go one about Bonneville's being grandma cars, but they aren't even in he league of the lame-ness, slow-ness, and grandma-ness of the Tempo.

Sure they are. They're cheap FWD economical cars. Look at how much I get bashed HERE.

They are. But come on. Ask anyone whether they'd have an '01 Impala or a '89 Tempo, and see how many say Tempo.

Someone has supercharged a Tempo before. Plus a 3.0L Yamaha SHO V6 swap has been done. Thats about it though.

Montana thunder AWD , 3.8 S/C block, cartuning turbo kit, beefed up trans and rear diff, lsd front and rear, full exhaust.. pretty much what all the w-body/h-body guys mod up. Take it to the track with your family of 7 , run 10/11's all night, drive home.

Wow. Just, wow. Is that all from the factory?? Man, I'd love one of those. Someday when I have kids, I'm gonna get an old AWD U-body (shit quality aside), and see what I can as far as making it go faster. But damn. An S/C 3.8 would be the shit in one of those. As it is, they were one of the faster minivans of their time. Not that thats saying much I guess. But still.
