No, when you actually look at the numbers, it really isn't all that bad.  We've seen much, much worse.  We've even had much worse than this discounting the Great Depression, and we've survived.  The media blows things out of proportion, as always, and instates fear in the minds of the dimwitted.

The dollar will not become worthless, regardless of who the nest President is.

Which numbers are you looking at?

Invest in gold and euros. Those seem to be the best options right now.

Not while China, Japan and the rest of the world hold trillions of dollars of US Treasury notes (aka debt). If the dollar tanks, those notes become worthless. If those notes become worthless then no one will buy them and then the USA might actually have to run a balanced budget for once and not spend more than they earn (up here in Canada we've actually been running surpluses and reducing our national debt for well over a decade now).

If it really gets to the point where the declining dollar is more damaging then high interest rates, the Fed will jack up rates to halt the decline of the dollar. Not pretty but it will happen if it gets to that point.

Besides, all paper currency is fiat.
