We should let disabled people try to live in society, but sometimes they are in the way.  They are disabled which means they can't do everything we can, so sometimes we'd be better off w/o them in the classroom in this case

Yeah, and a bunch of five year olds should be the people to decide that.

Also, Aspergers is a disorder.

The teacher really should be fired, and her qualifications should be taken away.

I wonder if there is anything else that could be done to make the teachers life even harder, if so, those actions should be taken also.

This is why I feel certain people should not be teachers. Teachers on a whole publicly humiliate students and really do not understand what the impact it will have on that child's life.

I believe teachers should be made to take some kind of Child Psychology course, which deals with the effect of certain discipline methods on a child.

There is no doubt that what the teacher did was wrong, just hope the School board at least acknowledges that and takes action against the teacher for what she did.

I have aspergers, and it makes me feel sick. We get enough shit as it is from assholes who don't understand us. we don't need bitch teachers going around and  abusing little boys.

yeahhh it's a pretty wrong thing to do... it's amusing/terrible someone like that got to the level in society where she could be a teacher and, well, teach kids. what she did was just terrible.

I'm going to be honest here. Obviously in kindergarten it doesn't really matter, but I've been in classes where you're actually supposed to be learning important shit with kids who have aspergers, and in all honesty it's hard to learn when you're sitting nearby.

This clearly wasn't the way for the teacher to handle it, but with rising class sizes, and more and more schools cutting corners by not hiring appropriate aids for special students (You can tell this by the fact that there is no quote from the student's aid. There would be if one was present.) That tells us that this teacher was being made to deal with at least one student who requires extra help on top of an entire kindergarten class.

I feel that if certain students show a tendency to have a negative impact on other students, or the class atmosphere as a whole, they should be removed from standard classes. This doesn't just apply to students with aspergers. It applies to any student who is overly distracting, annoying, attention-seeking, etc.

That's obviously wrong, that teacher should be getting fired and/or getting her license taken away.

I can't believe someone like this is teaching children.

Seriously.

I have Asperger's, and I was excluded from school for bad behaviour (when I was the same age as this child), which was me not understanding how to behave properly in a class, and my teacher then proceeding to shout at me in front of the entire class, making me sit on the carpet and then twisting my wrist and accusing me of slapping her when I tried to get her off (because it hurt, obviously)

Whilst I understand that my actions weren't right, now, this teacher had said to my mother I had developmental problems, and the only thing she did was said me to special needs classes for an hour a week, which did nothing but teach me how phonics or some shit, which I quite clearly could do.
