I think some people in my college (freshman '12) are picking roomates from facebook .. it's not that i find it abnormal or anything, but it sounds a little weird to me just cause it's facebook & i guess i dont want to blame myself for picking a bad roomate lol. Adding people & saying what's up is not really my style (& i dont mean it in a cocky way at all). But, should i be doing this? I'd rather have the college pick my roomate and have it be a surprise, but am i being left out of having friends before school starts?

I spoke to loads of people I'd be living with on facebook before I went to university. It's a good idea actually.

I'm currently talking to a few people on Facebook who will be going to my university next year, but I want my roommate to be completely random. Like you said, I don't want it to be my fault if I end up hating the roommate I'm stuck with for the entire year.

you dont have to pick a roommate but i think it would be a good idea to just start talkin to a few ppl. im goin out of state so i tried to make a couple of friends before hand and i made a few good ones that i actually already talk on the phone with so it could be a good idea.
