Macs do crash, yes, but um barely ever.
Would u rather have your mac break down once every 10 years or have a pc that gets a new bug in it every day and is always crashing down.

  you decide:D..me?? I'd rather have a mac:D.

I have owned a Mac for just under a week now. In that time my PC hasn't crashed.

You must be doing something or hiding something from us because not many people's Mac's crash in their Computers lifetime let alone alot in a week. Are you like "wanting" it to crash so you can post about it?

Hmm, yes, I'm "wanting it to crash" so I can waste my time restarting it.

It has crashed opening images in iPhoto and ripping and playing tracks in iTunes. Please note the CD being used had no copy protection so its not the fault of the CD producer.

I don't want it to crash, I'm just posting what I see. I get annoyed with people telling me they don't crash when I know full well they do.

I am not "hiding anything from you, nor am I doing anything wrong. I do know how to use them thanks. I was repairing Mac's before I even owned one.

Ah, yes.  That speaks a world of praises for Apple's expensive, proprietary hardware.

Ah, yes.  That speaks a world of praises for Apple's expensive, proprietary hardware. No, They use the same Hardware as all the other computer companies now. They are just different because they have nice looking hardware. Its the OS that makes it better.

OK, please for the love of god tell me what you pay the money for then. If the hardware is cheap as chips and off the shelf then it must be the OS. But wait, OSX is only $129. Hmm, perhaps it could be that you are being ripped off.

You say the OS is great and doesn't crash, you say its the hardware. Yet for some reason you seem o be paying a awful lot for it. If a computer costs this much just for the looks i think you missed the point of computers.

The OS is only 129 because its only for people who having exsisting Mac's and are upgrading OS. If Apple sold OS X to all PC users. It would be much comparable to Microsoft.

If its crashing you need to get it fixed because theres obviously something wrong with it.

And OS9 isn't known for not crashing. OS X is.

There is nothing wrong with it. The hardware is working fine and the OS is a fresh install with only fairly standard apps installed on it. All i am pointing out os that system conflicts and crashes do happen under a Mac.

"only" $129 for Mac OSX... you realize that's MORE expensive than Windows? I can get XP Pro for $100 easily.

And Apple is very, very bad about forcing you to buy exclusively their stuff, from the hardware to the software.

You have to use whatever brand of RAM, Hard drive, CPU, motherboard, etc that THEY choose. And then they have the nerve to charge you extra for it. And of course EVERYTHING defaults to their software. Trust me, Apple is far worse about that kind of thing than Microsoft ever was.

At least on a PC I can choose my hardware, and from what source (thus cutting costs down for me, the consumer).

You just compared a used product sold over ebay to a retail version of a product.  What a dumbfuck.  I give the ol' comparing appples and oranges analogy, but I dont think you would comprehend.

By the by:

Xp Home

Xp MCE

Xp Pro

The first two being cheaper than os x, the third being about $10 more.
