Who'd have thought? You go to certain...*ahem* sites and download missing files to run movies (titles whatever.exe) and you get a whole bunch of malware...what is the world coming to? That's kind of the story of my day though... So I was hoping to get some help from any tech-heads that might lend me a hand. This dotexe file went to my received files like everything else (automatically) does. I double-clicked on the icon in "my received files" and it dissapeared from there, creating several icons on my desktop including: Virusheat4.3 (or something), online security troubleshooting, and online security guide. It also created/changed several registry entries, most of which I think I've fixed with spybot S&D. There were several new programs that I found when in control panel, and there's some kind of new process in the bottom left that gives me a "fake" (spybot, 2008) spyware warning. I've run Norton but it hasn't found anything. On top of that, (and perhaps most worrying) I can't do a system restore. I've tried several dates and still can't get it to work.
So I'm hoping that some kind of anti-virus Rembrandt will save the day for me on this one. Any ideas and solutions are welcome. As for posting pictures of Llamas laughing at me and such, I'd say that that's fair enough, but your post will probably be deleted
