to override the password startup the computer press F8 on the keyboard before windows starts and the windows xp screen shows up and keep pressing until a screen comes up and says safe mode, safe mode with networking, etc. select safe mode, wait for windows to boot up, and click administrator. Unless your boss used the admin account (which is never recommended for this reason) you cant reset the password. if he didnt it should go right in w/o a password. if you reinstall windows, it will ask you to enter a new password for the administrator account. To retain the drivers, put in a windows xp pro corporate install cd (you need the corporate to bypass windows activation). You cannot use a home edition cd, it wont work and ill explain why in a second. When you are in windows setup, select upgrade NOT new installation, upgrade will transfer all the drivers over! You cannot upgrade an XP Pro system to XP Home it wont let you because it doesnt make sense to it!
