Wrong

All your windows box has to do is be sitting on the internet without proper protection, and it will contract a virus/adware/spyware/be attacked.

I run Win2K, but only when required to. If I have my choice of which one to use - read "If I'm not playing a game" - I'm using Gentoo Linux.

I hate RedHat because as far as I can tell it's Linux for people that don't want to learn to use Linux.

Other than that, everything has it's use. Linux is good for applications, Mac is the best image/graphics system there is on the market, and Windows - well, I'll correct myself.

The only reason Windows still exists is because someone got in on the market early and flooded it with inferior machines and now a good deal of games are "Windows only"

type your post here  type your post here  type your post here Windows 2000 Professional and Windows XP Pro way rule over all the others, esp linux which really sux.  mac os comes in second, but its all long ways behind.  if your short on budget get windows 98se.  now one thing, any thing is better the microshaft winblows millenium edition.  that was THE low point.

Most computer owners use Windows based Operating Systems as do I. I use Windows XP Pro, Windows XP Home on 2 machines, and Windows 2000 on the other, and another hard drive with Windows Server 2003 - I think thats it (don't use it much). Just because Windows is the most popular don't count out the competition. Like I said I use Windows more but for my Webserver I use Mac OSX, absolutly love it - great Operating System the graphics and the use (once you get use to it) are wonderful. I also have Linux on a hard drive that I use every now and again, with this one I love it to. I feel that there are Operating Systems for different types of users, I see no need to argue about which is better - you like Windows fine, you like Mac great, and you like Linux good for you. Windows is extremely easy to use that is why many people use it, not to mention they really don't hear about the others. What do I recommend to people looking for a new OS? Well I would have to tell you to research it first. If you're looking for an easy to use OS Windows is always a favorite, if you're looking for an OS with great graphics and one where there are no viruses for well then Mac OSX is just right for you. Then we come to those *Advanced* users I would have to say go with Linux on this one. - But hey thats just my .02 .
