Laptop's keyboards seem to be a touch more sensitive than normal keyboards. Not to mention the travel space between the key and actual function is shorter on a laptop than a normal keyboard. Only problem being, laptops (at least mine) are rather small, and i have rather large fingers and they seem to hit the wrong keys if i type faster than 50 wpm or so. I haven't actually timed myself. But i know it is slower.

hey i was playing typer shark at 30wpm and at the end it said i was typing 69 wpm then the second time it said 73 wpm... so thats my range... it varies... so lets say 65-75 for me...

What's ATC. If it's like typing class then that's a good improvement. I went from 70's to 80's. Oh well. I can get in the 100's if its an easy sentence.

lol ash i just got my keyboard and its one of teh luminesant (sp) ones it glows blue its pretty l337 but its small but i guess tahst good because i lan alot and smaller = better

I'm not sure how fast I type, but my mom estimated at 50-60 wpm. My mom can type as fast as someone speaks, I can type as fast as someone speaks if they speeeeeeak verrrrrrry slowwwwwwwly.

Someone asked about the Natural Evolution keyboard a while back. Basically this guy wrote an algorithm to create the most efficient keymap for a keyboard given a lot of typed content. What he ended up doing was copying and pasting like three or four books from Project Gutenberg, like 10 years of emails, approximately 500,000 lines of source code and some other miscillaneous (sp?) text items. When the algorithm finished it popped out a keymap which was similar to dvorak but had certain keys put in different places. In other words it produced probably close to the most efficient keymap, but who's to say really. I'm tryin to find a link to it but I'm not having any luck, I'll post it if I manage to find it.
