How can you love someone, want to be with that person, yet don't seem to want to be exclusively theirs? Why in the world say you want to be with someone, but in the back of your mind want to be fucking other people?

Sadly, I kinda get that vibe. To be honest if there's been no indication so far that he wanted to sex up other women and he brings it up now, either he has some confrontation problems, or he's trying to let you down slowly. It's probably best to talk to each other about it like you said earlier. If it's any consolation he must still care about you though if he's trying to do it this way as to try and hurt your feelings less, though it rarely works out. It still hurts in the end and nothing will prevent that.

God I sound so pessimistic.
