Any ideas where to start a response to this question:

What is your view of diversity and its importance in education?

Where have you come from? What is the racial makeup of both your home town and the school you are applying to?

The more diverse, the more the opinions and outlooks on matters differ. That gives a clearer picture on the issues.

Diversity has no purpose.  Education has no purpose.  We have no purpose.  Life has no purpose.  Any and everything else is just your subjective inclinations.

answer it with this and you'll be accepted for sure.

It has a purpose if you believe that you want to live your life in the best possible manner given the constraints and foundations of human civilization.

Well of course life has a purpose, its just that once the person sees that this anonymous dude understands that 'belief' itself is subjective, and that if you base the fact that life has a purpose just because you believe, then that purpose cannot be true and is just an illusion.  Belief is arbitrary and cannot falsify or factualize the idea that life may or may not have a purpose.  I'm pretty sure the college admissions officer would think highly of this guy because it takes quite an individual to be interested in philosophy.
