I'm christian, but I don't go to church. I hate them. To me, organized religion with one guy up front trying to tell you what to do and how to act and such is just not good for any religion.

I don't like church b/c I want to think for myself and use my own judgement on the meaning of the bible.

But other people have different opinions of course. So do anyone that is in any religion, do you think it's necessary to go to church (or whatever it is in your religion. I'm not speaking to just christians)

I'm a Christan and I don't believe in organised religion.
I never have and I don't think that if you don't go to church your not a true Christian like most people.
I can worship god at my home and how ever I want to.

Dude i'm exactly the same way. i'm christian but i don't go to church either, because i have my own personal perspectives and beliefes on christianity. I do respect the pastors opinions though, and i do take notice but it makes me mad when they talk about how rock and homosexuality is abominable when they're always looking at it with a bias. and i don't even agree with everything they say either, so yeah i'm just like you.

well, that's a tough one. i believe that any kinda meeting under God, with believer's is acceptable. i personally don't like church. at least not the modern day church. my guy and i were visiting a church and he had his arm around me during praise and worship, and the worship leader came up to us in front of everyone and whispered "we here to worship God not eachother".

we weren't doing anything out of the ordinary, he just had his arm around me. for pete's sake, my dad used to put his arm around me at church.. it was so retarded. i just think nothing in church is what it's supposed to be. i go to bible study at my family friend's house and we study the bible and prophecies etc. and it's alot of fun cause we've known eachother for about 8 years, so we joke the whole time and everything. but this way we're gathering under God, without all the drama and such.

woah that was long... :D

I don't think so. Maybe if everyone in the same religion agreed on everything, then yeah. Otherwise it just seems like interpretations and opinions.

Why do you ask? I believe in God. I believe that Jesus is the son of God. Among other things. Although I don't believe the bible word for word. The bible shouldn't be taken too literally.

Fair enough to people who genuinely want to be dedicated to God and honestly follow their interpretation of the Bible, without going to church, but I just think there's a fine line between that and people who call themselves Christians but then cherrypick so much simply for convenience. It's just the people that go "I'm Christian but I don't go to church and I don't mind drinking or sex before marriage or using the Lord's name in vain or strictly adhering to too many principles because that's not my interpretation of the Bible" a.k.a "I want to be called a Christian but I'm too uncommitted and lazy to actually practice the principles of what I call my religion."
