Hillary supporters (well at least the majority) aren't stupid enough to vote for McCain just because because he made Sara Palin his VP. The only thing the she and hillary have in common are that the both women.

No, they're still stupid enough.

And McCain knows that.

I think the majority are not. But I've talked to too many women who are saying that they'll vote for McCain or not vote at all because Hillary didn't get the nomination.

maybe they have a legitimate reason for that?

It's truly because they are angry that Obama won the primaries. I personally don't believe in that...Obama wasn't my first choice either, but his views are similar enough to mine that I'll support him 100%.

Besides, he's better than John McCain.

But OP  is about whether they'll vote for him just for a female VP.

It would be counteractive to their cause. Sarah Palin is a social conservative. She would take women's rights backwards.

They are stupid enough to believe in the gender gap myth, and stupid enough to believe that McCain doesn't support equal pay for equal work.

Sex of the VP choice is the last thing I consider, it should be the last thing anyone considers.  If you think it was about picking a female you aren't paying attention to the demographics McCain needs.

Women are one of those demographics, but the fact that she is more of a conservative than McCain is just shows that she wasn't just some token affirmative action hire that liberals love to showcase.
