Should I ask for an explanation, or just walk away?

Basically, there's this girl called Becky who I was friends with (and don't really know where I stand with her at the moment). Her, and a group of friends, met up with me on Thursday and she seemed ok then. She was trying to include me, and also made polite conversation. The reason I was acting so distant, was because of the fact that her boyfriend told me that she had been saying I fancied her - which is NOT true. The only love I've ever felt for her (and which I told her about) is platonic, which is how I feel about all my friends and family. I don't know why she would have said it, bearing in mind we've had discussions before about me not being comfortable about the gay thing, and how uncomfortable I feel talking about it. Also, during that night, she made some points about the whole issue of homosexuality, stating that she would never 'turn that way'. This made me feel kind of upset, as I knew it was aimed at me, yet felt too sad to say anything. I'm just wondering why someone who claims to not be homophobic, would make something like that up.

I just don't know whether I should ask for an explanation, or walk away altogether.

Please help me LW!

If that's the way she feels then that's the way she feels. Everyone has different opinions. Maybe the gay thing is a religious view?

Well, to be quite honest... I was questioning my friend the same way too. I felt like she had made some comments that lead me to believe she might be a lesbian. She mightve said that to her boyfriend and just be wondering. Not exactly saying in concrete that you "fancy her."I would just step back from the friendship for awhile. You dont have to throw it away. Unless she's being a jerk, then by all means run.
