alright so I weight 224 lbs. i'm 15 and I'm 5'11. The docter says i need to be about 180 lbs. So I'm eating my veggies.. and only drinking water and skim milk.. a lil crystal light. and my calorie intake is about 1000-1500 a day. This all goes along side daily excerise.. (jogging) how fast do you think I'll loose it? Do you guys think If i keep this up I will loose it?

You shouldn't drop your calories that low. Your metabolism will slow to a crawl.

Ahh that is definitely true as well, but preventable if your eating habits are consistent (3 times a day, at the same times every day and same calorie intake)

you would have to figure you BMI, body metabolic rate, then take into consideration that 3500 burnt calories is a pound

You have to eat way more than that to effectively LOSE weight.

Go for at least 2,000 and be active.

That's not ideal. Six meals a day, with calorie tapering, and spaced 3ish hours a part. Also, have three low calorie days (although not as low as 1000) followed by one high calorie day to keep your metabolism up. The same strategy can be used with carbohydrates.

actually you don't actually need 2000 calories a day...1500 is a good amount...

For a 5'11" male it's definitely pushing it, and 1000 a day is ridiculous.

If he sticks to it most of the weight he loses will actually be muscle (which will slow his metabolism down further and lead to massive weight gain when he returns to normal eating habits).
