I have a problem - I'm pretty sure I have asperger's (and I mean seriously, I'm not basing this on an internet quiz). I would need to be diagnosed before I told anyone that it's the reason I act so oddly, and I want to explain that I'm not being weird deliberately or anything, but here's the problem: I don't want to be diagnosed because I have this fear of psychiatrists. And even if I overcame that, my mum wouldn't take me to one because she's sure I don't have it, and that I'm perfectly normal (in that way that parents always think their children are perfect). Does anyone have any advice or suggestions? Thanks. (I think this is the right forum)

I know a few ppl with aspergers syndrome and i doubt you are one of them.
Just the fact that you came to a social website tells me that it is very unlikely as people with aspergers are extremely touchy and are not very social.

ummm, this is a toughie.
i mean are you completely sure in yourself that you have asperger's? like the little/no attachment to others emotionally etc?
then tell your mum you have serious concerns, and ask her to bring you where-ever you need to be assessed.

I have a very minor case of asperger's syndrome and i'm here.
though, it's true about them not being very social, i dislike many many people very very much.
