I was reading Tao te Ching before bed, and I came across this....really liked it so....here ya go. My final thought before I head off to bed.

"Wu is nothingness, emptiness and nonexistence.

Thirty spokes of a wheel all join at a common hub
yet only the hole at the center
allows the wheel to spin.
Clay is molded to form a cup
yet only the space within
allows the cup to hold water
Walls are joined to make a room
yet only by cutting out a door and a window
can one enter the room and live there.

Thus, when a thing has existence alone
it is mere dead-weight
Only when it has wu does it have life."
-Verse 11

I'm out.

E. M. Cioran, at least to my interpretation, says much the same thing, that life is with a purpose lacks flair, or meaning (wu), and thus it is the purposelessness, and mystery, the 'emptiness' which ultimately adds the actual meaning.

Lets see if I can find the direct quote.

Give life a specific goal and it immediately loses its attraction. The inexactitude of its ends makes life superior to death; one touch of precision would degrade it to the triviality of the tombs.

Ahhh the pseudo-pessimism of Cioran...nothing quite like it.

That does sound quite similar though.
