I swear something I eat I'm allergic to. I have no idea what it is but a lot of the time when I eat I start coughing and my saliva gets really thick. I don't know if I'm just being paranoid but it's really annoying having coughing fits after eating.

That's probably just paranoia, if you were really allergic you'd get rashes and have proper breathing problems.
