The food isn't lacking. It's mostly precooked to serve customers faster.

But they make money because you can a burger, fries, and a large drink for less than $5 at McD's or you can go to Denny's and pay $15 for the same thing. Which would you normally choose?

Most Italian restaurants don't deliver. And Pizza Hut's pizza is way better than our local Italian restaurant.

Anyway, I guess it's because we like instant gratification and we don't have to wait as long for food from Pizza Hut and McDonald's.
