In my state, an emancipation petition has to be filed by the minor's guardians yaddayaddafloridaisstupid. Would the requirements change in the case of abuse?

I don't know Fla. law of course but if you are being abused it'd likely be a different mechanism you want to put in place, one that will give you better support. Have you contacted Dept of Children & families (DCF)?
