i got into two awesome colleges, but one is better than the other and it's obvious. i told these people that i know and they told me to pick the less awesome school and how they thought that school would be "more fun" and was in a "goodplace". BUT they had these looks on their faces like " you're going to pick this school over the other". why didn't they tell me to pick the better of the two if it was obvious to them that it's better?

Because they'd rather have fun constantly instead of a good education.

They probably think it would be harder and that you would have less fun there. But I would say go to the better school, it is probably a better opportunity.

no, one school is CLEARLY better and it was obvious by their looks that they knew that but they told me to pick the other school. while they were telling me to pick the other school they had tese looks on their faces like, "you're ACTUALLY going to pick this school over the other".

First off, congratulations on your acceptance! The major problem that I see with your story isn't you asking these kids where you should go, but rather taking their responses so seriously. People always ask their friends for opinions when making big decisions. That's no biggie. The biggie is that you need to realize, in the end, YOU are the one that is going to end up spending four years (maybe more) in the place you select. To make this decision, you must line up your priorities. Find out what is important to you and what you want to get out of college. I have found that the best way to do this is to make a list of pros and cons of each decision and then pick which one sounds better to YOU personally. Not to your friends and not to your parents and not to the people on this site. That being said, your question had nothing to do with which college you should pick and I feel like I'm straying from the topic. The reason these kids told you what they told you is because, like us, they want what is best for you personally. The reason they had that look on their faces could stem from a number of things. It is possible they might have not gotten into the "good" school you did and could be shocked that you aren't choosing that school because *they* would. People nowadays try and be supportive and helpful no matter what decisions others make. Heck, just look around livewire and you'll see that all over the place. The fact of the matter is that these kids were just doing what they thought was right in telling you to make your own decision. They might not be close enough friends to you to be absolutely and unabashedly 100% honest, but they did what friends do. Perhaps the best advice I can give to you is to say, in the future, don't be so taken aback when people have your best interest at heart. Good luck on making your decision!
