my mum is often childlike, but in a cute kind of way that people find very appealing. she's incredibly shy and self conscious but people are generally attracted to her and she makes friends easily. people want to protect her, i think, which i think it due to her childlike behaviour (and teeny wee size). she's also incredibly strong. she's held my entire family together since she was a tiny wee girl, and i really really admire her for it. i only know a little of what she's been through in life, but i can guarantee that if it'd been me who'd lived through it, well, i wouldn't be even half the woman she is today. she's fantastic and the whole family basically looks up to her and she's everyones rock. my dad is also often childlike, but in a more selfish kind of way. he's a really selfish person, actually, but i wouldn't say that makes him a bad person. he's one of the smartest people i've ever come across, but he doesn't know how to use his head. he's extremely self destructive & an alcoholic, but he's aware of this and if he wanted he could stop in an instant. he's shut off his feelings because he's both punishing and protecting himself. he'd also do absolutely anything, anything at all, for his kids. my dad has a huge, huge place in my heart.
