Car Loan?

My boyfriend and I live together in an apartment. He is a landscaper and I was suppose to work full time night shift at a store, but they gave my position away. (I had it lined up for when we moved)

Well, we've been SERIOUSLY struggling with money. I can't find work anywhere, and have actually been applying everywhere weekly. I need to work to get us caught up.

My boyfriend was given a visa by scotia bank which helped a lot at that point cause his car broke down and we had to use the visa to get it fixed. Well, the fucking car broke down every fucking month, and now his visa is maxed cause of that fucking car. It went again yesterday and we only have $200 to fix it. It's getting so ridiculous.

I should be hired by September with all the students going back, but we can't wait until then.

Do you think Scotia bank would give him a loan even though his visa is maxed and his account is negative $100?

Cause, I wouldn't think they would, but they love to get lots of interest out of people. So, I don't know. I know my bank wont cause I don't have a job.

Probably not. Do you not have anyone who can help you out for a while?

Honestly, the worst thing you can do with a maxed out credit card, an account in debit and only one income is to get into more debt from a financial institution.

Can your family help? Maybe that way, you could borrow money off them, but not have to pay back interest and not have to start the payments right away. Or maybe you have a friend who would be able to just keep patching the car up for you until things get a bit better.

To me, it really seems like your hands are tied. Whether or not the bank would give him a loan, if it were me I wouldn't go down that path. What is the public transport like in your area? Maybe that can help you for a while.

Right now my mom can't help cause she has her hands tied. She has sold her house, but doesn't get the money until November. And then his family wouldn't help. They'd make him pay him back with interest, or wouldn't help at all...even though he just bought his daughter a new car with no strings attached....and she is selling it.... He always does that. He did help my boyfriend buy his car that we have now, but he made him pay him back in interest.

My experience with Scotia Bank has been a relatively good one, and I find that they are rather accomadating, definatley more so than the other Big Banks. However, I doubt they will give you a loan, but they may extend your boyfriend a personal line of credit. However, I'd reccomend going to family as if you get into too much debt and don't find a job soon you could force yourself into bankruptcy.
