My Computer...

I don't know if this is the right forum, but it seemed the closest.

I was on AIM last night, when my friend, who is always sending me links to music videos and other things, sent me a link. Turns out, he didn't get to warn me, and it was a virus. I clicked it, because I thought it was another one of his stupid videos. I've run Ad-aware more than once now, but it keeps coming back. It sent links to all of the people on my buddy list.

What virus is this? Is there any way to get rid of it or is my computer pretty much screwed?

Guess you shouldn't click just any link, eh?
But, I wouldn't know what virus it is. Run Norton Antivirus or something.

If your computer really goes askew with this virus you can always try backing up all of your files and wiping the hard drive. It sounds like a really extreme measure, but I know people who routinely wipe the hard drive every 6 months. It's like having a new computer all over again without spending a fortune. Be sure that you have everything backed up though so you can put it back after you wipe it. That means everything from documents to music to web brousers.

That's probably what you have. That should take care of it.
