it seems like thats what Google is aiming to be.  Library of Alexandria once had all or most of the ancient world's knowledge in its grasp.  anything you want to know,...Library of Alexandria.   Today we have many search engines to find you information but nothing like Google.

The internet itself is the Library of Alexandria... or "The Library of Babel" if we can talk in Borgesian terms.

Google does not contain info. Rather, Google collects information from all over the world wide web and neatly organizes it so you can find exactly what you need.

So perhaps Google is the index of the library.

of course.   but i say it like that cause i saw a documentary on google where they said something along that line.
