I do not believe that the fault of that building collapsing lies with the architect. Seriously. The poor man is probably still beating himself up, but seriously, who the fuck PLANS for that? I would never have even imagined that before it happened. I don't want to imagine the kind of fucked up mind it takes to even come up with that shit. I mean, when I think of making a sound building, I think of proper structural support and high winds, earthquakes, and normal fires. Not...a fucking PLANE hitting it. A big fucking plane, for that matter. Two big fucking planes. No one saw that shit coming, at least not to the degree of planning in advance in terms of architecture.

I mean, if you were an architect, pre 9-11, and you were showing someone the designs you had made for the building, and you were describing the safety features and the conditions the building could withstand, and the person you were speaking to responded, "What if a plane hits it?", you would have looked at them like they were fucking stupid. Most things are going to sustain considerable damage if you HIT THEM WITH AN AIRPLANE. I mean, considering how tall the buildings were, I suppose it was a POSSIBILITY that a plane could hit one, but who the fuck designs a structure with the intention of withstanding a mofo divebomb attach by a mofo 767? No one does.

Geez, it makes you miss the days when the most common "I remember where I was when..." memory was Elvis's death.

He built it right, just the weight of the top that fell down went straight to the center, all of it, more than could be handled, instead of being dispersed properly....basic physics really.

If it was a small plane it may not have been a problem, I never did that much research. I somehow doubt an impact from like a 5-passenger aircraft would not have been that big an issue, and it makes sense that they would have built the building to be able to withstand an impact from a plane, considering the fact that, well, like I said, they were really tall and sometimes stupid things happen.

Dude if you don't care why did you bother to respond? It matters to me because one day, these civilians went to work expecting it to be the normal, tedious office experience and instead some of them ended up dying...and on fire. Sorry dude, I can't be apathetic about large scale human suffering and loss of life. Especially when those who suffered and died were civilians just going to work and doing their jobs. Maybe I'm simple like that, or I'm too empathetic, but that still blows my mind.
