I know that it is supposed to hurt for most girls, but for my girlfriend, during the two times we've tried it, I could only go in about an inch before it hurt too much for her. Her gynecologist just said to go slow (we were) and use lots of lubricant. Next time we try I'm going to get something water-based and use a ton of it. Oh God, it hurt SO much for me. I cried like the whole time. It was horrible. I'm o the petite side too and my bf is also average. I don't know why it hurt so much, but it stopped hurting at all after the third time or so. Her hymen might just be covering more, and therefor must be torn more, than most people. It only hurt more when I was tensed up. Then I tried to basically not think about it and let my body go limp, only then he could go in easier. When the pain was at it's worst it was like jabbing a knife into your skin really hard. =S Maybe she wasn't relaxed enough? Or maybe you could try fingering her lots before hand?

It hurt ALOT. I'm not going to lie. It does hurt for most girls. We didn't have to stop though. You have to get past that first time and pain for it to start to feel better. I think that's what your girlfriend should do.
