So I was a support leader since sometime last year, but due to personal issues I didn't get on the computer very often like starting sometime late last year I think. Anyway, around June I went out of the country to where I barely had light, much less a computer. So I came back earlier this month and it's my first chance to be on LW since then. When I went on in before I left, in late March, I was still a support leader. Now I have been stripped of said status without so much as a message.

Don't worry, my purpose is not to complain about it (though I do feel at least a message or some type of warning would have been nice) but I was curious as to the reason I was "demoted".

Was it because I was giving too few e-help responses or was it because of my long absence?

EDIT: Actually I just realized my whole inbox is empty so it's possible there was a message and it got deleted.

I just hadn't read anything about this before, so I'm really genuinely curious. Thanks in advance.

If you were gone for more than 60 days, you're automatically demoted. It's not something we control.

There's no note so I would guess that a mod did not demote you.

So is it possible to re-apply?

Yes. You'll need some recent supportive replies though. Just to prove your dedication to becoming active again in the support system.

Are there a limited number of SL positions?  Why would people be automatically demoted?

I'd assume that it has nothing to do with the amount of positions. As you know, becoming a support leader has responsibilities and you are made one so that you can help. If you're inactive for extended periods of time that means you are not doing your job and so they demote you. It makes sense.

if you close your account do you loose all that as well?

is there no way to say "hey, I am going outside of computer range for say...3 months, to the jungles of africa but I still want a livewire account when I get back"?

same deal when closing account.

and unfortunately, no Everything goes after 60days and you're a regular ol' member. Except donations, of course.

If I ever plan to leave livewire for an extended period of time remind me to hand off my username and password to someone so they can log in for me periodically.
