I count the hours and the days
I count the minutes,
count the ways.
I count until there is no more
Continue counting,
A silly chore.
When he says he loves me so,
I count the lies
that I do know.
But in all truth I love him back
Truth be forgotten,
for truth I lack.

(Should it be 'a silly chore' or 'a pointless chore' or 'a lackluster chore' or should I say 'my' instead of 'a'?)

my worthless chore.
When he says he loves me so,
the truth is shown
as lies i know.
though in all truth I love him back
but Truth's a contradiction,
that's not intact

Yeah, I'm not changing the whole thing. It actually has meaning to it. 'Shades of grey' doesn't convey that meaning all that well.
