A Mestizo is a person of mixed Native and European Decent. It most commonly refers to the Spanish and the native peoples of their colonies who have had children together, making them (their children) Mestizo.

A mestizo is someone, living in Latin America, that is a mix of Spanish/European, Amerind, and Negro(slaves).

Most people in Latin America are mestizos.

Search Mexican on Google images and sort through the porn and you'll see some mestizos.

Is a good example. His skin isn't as light as the European, and you can see some facial features of the Amerind, but he has facial hair as the European does, but Amerinds lack.

A mestiza, adding the "a" to the end would indicate that it's a feminine word, therefore describing a woman.

So: a mixed woman in Latin America.

He's a few shades darker than Hedi Klum. I would've mistaken that guy for a Portuguese, Italian, or even Turkish.

Seriously? Well, Italy, Portugal, and Turkey are pretty mixed race, so I can see why SOMEWHAT, but you can also, distinctly, see Amerind features.

Our country's definition of mestizo/mestiza is someone who is a mix of Spanish and Filipino. (Philippines was a colony of Spain from 1520's to 1890's.)

So basically the same application as in Latin America; mixed Spanish/indigenous populations.

Come now, I'm not criticizing you, I'm criticizing the nonsense term "Amerind."

Ab origine, more or less "original." An aborigine is the original native inhabitant of a given area. American Aboriginals, not Indians, American Indians, Amerinds or Native Americans. Disguising the appellation "Indian" by burying it in a word like Amerind does not fix the original mistake or hide its error. American Aboriginal can't be argued against, and it describes "Amerinds" without any confusion. After all, we're native Americans, but we're not the original indigenous population.

Poor retard cannot accept the fact that they are called Amerindians.  So what if it was originally done in error because Columbus was kind of a tard, it is their name now.

Amerind is the official word.

As it's still a debate whether or not the Mongoloids were the original inhabitants of the Americas (Look up the Kennewick man(spelling), the oldest skeleton in the Americas-Also Caucasoid.

Seeing as their RACE is Amerind, and their LOCATION is Americas, they are called Amerinds. I'm not called a European Aboriginal, am I?

Accepting that a term is popular and accepting it as appropriate are different. I accept that its used, I don't accept that its appropriate.

Amerind is the official word.

Official by what standard? Adopted officially by whom? Or is there a universal list of official terms for everything?

Seeing as their RACE is Amerind, and their LOCATION is Americas, they are called Amerinds. I'm not called a European Aboriginal, am I?

So, "Since they're called Amerinds they're called Amerinds." You understand that if the issue of contention is the term, using the term to justify the term doesn't work right?

We're not called European Aboriginals because we're not a conquered minority and we've never been referred to collectively as Hawaiians.
