Because its the United states and all alot of people there care about is a race and alot of them judge by race. I'm half black and half white and the only guys i'v dated are white nobody was agianst it or anything in anyway they thought of it as being a normal couple. They thought it was a good thing and they encourage it, the people I know anyway.

i personally have never had to deal with people who didnt approve of interracial relationships. my parents are a interracial couple. and since i am mixed no matter who i date it will be a interracial relationship.

It's called stupidity, racism, bigotry and hypocrisy.   It stills exists in 2008 which doesn't make much sense does it?

In my opinion a major source of racism can be traced to religious organizations.  Most don't accept gays so why would it be fair to assume they accept blacks or other races?  You seldom see blacks in white churches.
