I am abstaining my vote, which is like voting for a third party.

I consider it "enhancing the power of other's votes", because that is what I am doing.

I actually agree with a ton of Ralph Nader's policies.

Your vote is a trust and promise to vote for the person who believe best able to affect the office.

If you let how other people may vote affect your vote - you have just handed over your vote to other people.

but at the same time this country is retarded and one doesn't accommodate 3rd parties (let's be honest.) on top of that, nobody here knows enough about 3rd party candidates to vote for them (and if they do, they have the same mindset - "such a person will not get elected".)

it's fucking irritating.

In a dream world.

In reality, my hate for someone might outweigh my preference for another.

I'd rather so and so lose than have whomever win.

It is irritating.  Many of the laws exist that make it hard for 3rd parties to compete.  They have to spend more resources to get on the ballot, the have to spend more money to have their conventions and elections - all by design because the republicans and democrats don't want to share power.

Why is it the primary election of two private organizations (D's and R's) is paid for by the government?  The green party, libertarian, and all the others don't get government checks when their members decide who they will run for office, they don't get to use public election facilities.
