We're doing geometric proofs now in Geometry, and I have no idea how to get past the first problem. The problem is... Write a justification for each step, given that ray BX bisects angle ABC and the measure of angle XBC is 45 degrees.
1. Ray BX bisects angle ABC
2. Angle ABX is congruent to angle XBC.
3. The measure of angle ABX is equal to the measure of angle XBC.
4. The measure of angle XBC equals 45 degrees.
5. The measure of angle ABX equals 45 degrees.
6. The measure of angle ABX plus the measure of angle XBC equals the measure of angle ABC.
7. 45 degrees plus 45 degrees equals the measure of angle ABC.
8. 90 degrees is the measure of angle ABC.
9. Angle ABC is a right triangle.
All I've got is this...
1. Given.
2. Definition of angle bisector (I'm not sure about this).
And that's all. I don't get this stuff.
