It has no experiments. It has no actual facts. Essentially outside of religion, what factual science is there to teach?

Nikki, what exactly would you teach about Creationism?

---

- The creation story as told in the bible.
- The fact that creationists themselves take it 100% literally whereas others believe it to be a shortened version of what happened (ie. 7 days not literally being 7 days)
- The different creationist theories - not just the Christian version, for example.
- The fact that some Christians believe fossils to have been planted by God as a "trick".

I agree it's not factual, but people need to have both ideas explained to them, even if they believe one or the other to be bullshit.

I think that belongs more in a religion or even sociology class, not a science class.

I don't understand how people can argue that it should be excluded from the curriculum.

Oh but there's a problem with that. If you teach high school kids that Christanity is just another religion and place genesis next to Norse origin myth, many Christians in the US throw tantrums. The only way you're going to placate many Christians in the US is if you teach Christanity as fact and by itself.

This is what I hate about America. Who cares if you upset some Christians? You could equally argue that you offend those who don't believe in evolution by teaching it as fact.

It SHOULD be taught along with the other "creation" stories of other religions, regardless of what your dedicated Christians believe.
