It is worth judging on their past when it has the potential to mess up his future. It's not a matter of disliking that they have slept with someone, it's a matter of being with someone with a communicable disease. He is too young to put himself into a situation with a girl that he knows has a disease.

Why would you stay with someone that you know you will never have sex with, in the off chance that you may fall in love with them? If you know you have no intention of being with them in the long run, why lead them on?

Now lets talk about the herpes.  If she contacted it from another guy there is a good chance that she has passed it onto you.  

No one can tell you what to do but unless you can let go of the previous sex and herpes you better get away from her.
