My best friend is just really depressed. He liked this girl (my other best friend), but she didn't like him and he's now over her, supposedly. But he's really sad, and I'm trying to cheer him up by just keeping him occupied. He says he's given up on love (which sucks, cuz I'm in love with him), but right now I don't care if he's sworn to be celibate. I just want him to be happy.

hmmmm...best friends are always very much alike so he could always fall for you.
i doubt he's incredibly depressed, he is probably just going through a really sad time and he would definitely appreciate if you helped him through it

Most of the time when people are sad they want to talk to someone, but they don't because they feel like they're complaining too much, so just let him know he can talk to you as much as he likes and you listen.
