when I was installing new hardware the hardware wasnt working so I searched the files and couldnt get the USB flash Drive to work after that I edited the device driver files and so after that I restarted my computer and windows wont start properly because of missing system files.

next I used FDISK and all the information was lost that sounded that you have wiped your hard drive clean.

Computer system details:
Toshiba 8100 laptop
Windows 98
18GB hard disk
220MB of Ram
The software: Turbo Tax. Turbo tax basic
6 years old toshiba laptop

how did I use FDISK to delete a hard drive?

when did this happen?

did you installed all the drivers for it on your Usb flash drive?

how did that happen when you edited the system files in the first place?

if you think your computer no longer boots? then what did you do to it?

do you own windows 98 with a torrent program? did you get it with a download?

can you resolve this problem for me?

Don't even bother with Win98 these days.  Win2k is the best choice for your hardware, or a lightweight Linux variant.  Win98 is not even supported by most new hardware (ever tried finding drivers for some USB drives for older machines?) and even software.

Not exactly sure how that happened.  If it involves Windows it is better to not ask questions.  Recently a Vista install formatted a separate hard drive on my computer that I did not tell it to.

If you need info on getting Win2k just PM me.
