I got this cell phone (LG Chocolate Flip or whatever) about a year and a half ago.

Really no major problems with it. Got wet one night when some idiot at work sprayed me with the sink hose, but I was done my shift in a few minutes and managed to put it on the dehumidifier and all. Fine.
That was about a year ago that happened. And everything was completely fine with it until recently.

Recently, my phone has started acting up. The sub display screen, which has the clock is generally now all distorted and everything. And the main screen gets all light and diluted looking. Which requires me to open and shut the thing a few times, then it gets back to it's normal dark colour.

Also, when I bought it, they essentially forced me into purchasing a case to go with it. Bad decision, it scratched the shit out of my sub display and the entire front of it after I took it off to clean it ONCE.

Now, I'm not receiving texts, haven't since Sunday. This happened once before because of a network problem.
This time they told me to remove the battery for 2 minutes, replace it and it should be fine. I've done this multiple times to no avail.

I'm taking it in to Telus tomorrow, with no hopes of getting anywhere because they'll tell me that it's water damaged and leave it at that... even though it's taken over a year for these things to arise..

Somehow I always end up getting fucked over. ugh

I doubt that it took a year to get damaged by water. It was most likely something else.

Oh I realize that it's most likely something else. But that is what they will blame it on. It's what they did with my last phone too. And it wasn't even water damaged to my knowledge (but apparently leaving it in a car for too long will do that according to them).
Because the paper on the inside has gotten wet, it is an indicator, and therefore voids the phone.

You've had it a year and a half... That's a pretty long time, get over it and buy a new one.  
 
And for the future, get insurance on your phone. It cost $7 a month and it's a nice way to avoid topics like this.

Yes because I have an expendable $200 for a new phone. Year and a half is only considered a long time because of the cheap material and cheap labour.

I'm not sure they offer it. I've never actually heard of it and they've never offered. Especially not for the $7 mentioned above    I'll have to look into it.
