it's not a religion, nor a way of life, nor a mix of the above. it's a mix of mixes of the above.

Jews vary in so many many ways.

I grew up through an array of different sects of judaism... and i've only really been able to agree with one of them, but the one i agreed with makes up a very small minority of all of judaism...and yeah, i dunno, it's hella fucking complicated, but i dislike a LOT of jewish customs, people, ways of life, but still clearly identify myself as a jew

Generally, an ethnic/religious group. Not a race, not a culture (as Jews have existed as distinct cultures; those Ashkenazim we're familiar with are not "the Jews").

I guess that is a good point actually.

I mean  some customs we have are universal and are basically the same wherever you go, but some things are not.

There are sephardic jews, ethiopian jews, chinese jews etc.
