I don't have anything against "pot heads" as people, but the drug really does mess you up. There was one kid at my school that smoked so much he couldn't even think straight. His brain was seriously fried, everyone made fun of him because he would say and do the dumbest things. He failed school to say the least. I wouldn't want to risk my life like that. Also, it changes you into a different social class. You feel like you have to be tough and bad ass if you smoke. Pot heads usually end up in a stereotypical mess, ex. they do bad in school, they get in trouble, they hurt themselves, they party too much, basically waste their lives. The drug becomes addicting and you can't give it up. Basically, those who do drugs don't want to face their own problems in life. My dad just left my mom and I? well I don't want to think about it, I'll smoke some pot so I feel better. It is an escape from reality that leads you into a place much less desirable. Bottom line, when they say don't do drugs, its for a very good reason. Why don't you face your own problems while your sober and take control of your life instead of letting the drug to all the thinking, or lack there of.

in these situations it's the person, not the drug. sure the drug may bring out personal characteristics like this, but in the end, they are personal characteristics whether they be expressed with or without a drug

You as a person choose how much you smoke, when you smoke, and if you smoke. So don't blame the drug for the reactions that people give off. Like said before, if you don't like the drug, just don't do it. I don't blame you and ridicule you for NOT doing weed.. I just think you'd be happier if you did :D

Damn, girl, what the fuck are you talking about? We're the most chill motherfuckers on the planet, we don't act tough. I don't hurt myself, I don't party at all, I don't get in trouble, and I don't waste my life. I didn't even do bad in school. And there's nothing addicting about weed. People become mentally addicted to the high, but not physically, so that's a load of bullshit. Edit: I'm a fucking pothead and I'm fucking proud of it. The fundamental reason your prespective is flawed is because it's based only on how your peers have used drugs. And your peers are gradeschoolers. Minors are much more likely to not be able to properly react to psychoactive substances. Think about teen drinking. Kids don't drink for the taste or for any kind of moderate buzz. They binge drink togeather at parties and act stupid. It's only partly to do with the fact they're intoxicated and just as much to do with the fact they want to get attention and fit in. So likewise the kids who smoke pot may not be doing it for the marijuana's effects as much as they're doing it to get attention or to create some sort of 'bad' reputation by doing a drug that they think makes them look cool. That's the only way you'd know they're potheads anyway. The more mature kids and most if not all adults don't go around telling the general public they're smoking pot because they're smart enough to realize other people don't need to know. And they're not out to prove anything by smoking their pot... Depending on what I'm doing it can help me concentrate on what's at hand. Pot doesn't really get you to the point that you're 'escaping this world'. The effects are pretty benign. I'd say the intoxication that comes from the common legal alternatives - alcohol, nerve pills, pain pills, etc... is more intense and can cause greater behavioral changes than marijuana.

Yep, I am a bit nieve. I also like stiring the pot, (no pun intended) and making trouble.
Your reactions are interesting, and my mind is shifting towards a change. I'm compelled to go smoke weed, but I may have found a new respect for some of you. It's just that every experience I have had with this subject has been negative.
You are are defensive because I have attacked your live style. I just want to know the reasons behind it.
