Islam is an old religion, and even it's not as bad as some of the oldest religions out their when it comes to women. I consider a new religion to be one created during or after the 15th century in case you're wondering.

You're perfectly free to set your own standards as to what constitute old v. new religions, but you can't honestly put Islam in the same boat as Judaism.

I like Islam more so than I do Christianity. I'm not going to speak on what  I don't know and make claims like "Their treatment of women is a bit shite" because I don't have detailed knowledge of Islam (although I used to be a Muslim), but I'd much rather be Muslim than Christian.

So, "I don't have any reason for my beliefs but here they are."

Why even bother making the statement if you admit you don't have anything to support your feelings?
