There were two options: we have free will, and will occasionally abuse it, or we don't, and are the drones of God.

Quite frankly, God would be more of an asshole by forcing the latter.

Besides, God created us to worship and honour him. Those two things, along with faith in his existence, cannot arise if we don't have free will. Our entire existence would be null and void.

Exactly. One would surmise, "I can go to the store OR stay home. I must have free will."

However, it's a catch 22. Whatever you do is what god made you do. Whatever you think is what god made you thought. T'is the illusion of free will, and there is no way to prove or disprove it.
